Now that the Military personnel had left, if Adi hadn't come, then according to the story's development, this once kind-faced middle-aged man would have, due to immense pressure, taken a desperate gamble to inject himself with the Green Goblin Serum, thereby transforming into the Green Goblin and causing a series of tragedies.
