Chapter 162: Demon Overlord! Unbeatable Griffin
After hurried forward along the way, Chen Rui and the others finally approached the tauren’s tribe. A startling scene came into his vision.
There were taurens, earth elementals and medusas everywhere along the way, but these creatures had all became stiff statues. It wasn’t the petrify talent of the medusas but actual crystal statues. From the outside, they were only covered by a thin layer of pale yellow crystal yet it was exactly this film-like crystal shell that isolated all life force.
There were also many incomplete statues. Based on the fracture, not only the surface layer but the entire flesh had become crystal! It seemed that they were still one step late as Glorfin’s invasion had extended to the tauren’s tribe. Then, what about Athena?
Chen Rui’s heart was beating fast when he saw that. An ominous feeling came to his heart, and he quickly accelerated his pace.
Finally, in front of the Tauren’s Lair, he saw an incomplete palace which was the Earth Palace that was moved here. The palace was surrounded by almost impenetrable layer of demonic flies. The ground around the area was covered by flickering crystals. When they walked on it, they felt like the consumption of energy almost doubled for no reason.
Looking from a distance, there was no more resistance around as almost all taurens, medusa and the normal earth elementals had been turned into crystals. There was only the faint battle noises that came from the Earth Palace, which was Chief Tauren Delong’s voice.
Chen Rui was spirited and rushed toward the Earth Palace with the 2 elite earth elementals. The demonic flies and earth elementals along the way wanted to besiege, but they seemed to have received a certain order where they actually made way and let the three hurried into the palace.
In the Earth Palace, Queen Medusa and Chief Tauren were fighting fiercely against the demonic flies that were made out of crystals that surrounded them. It was the spirit-devouring demonic fly that Chen Rui saw at the fountain of life. Not far behind them were Athena, Tim, Torre, Lysa and the others that totaled to about a dozen. Although they were still alive, they seemed to have lost their ability to move.
At the center of the palace was a standing figure. It was a tall earth elemental, wearing a strange armor which seemed to have integrated with his muscles. Yet, his face was wearing a weird mask.
The mask looked ordinary and there seemed to be a missing part in the middle of the forehead. That should be the Earth Elemental King that was possessed by Glorfin. When the three entered the palace, they were facing the Earth Elemental King. The eyes of the mask lit up suddenly. They flashed a cold and strange light.
Chen Rui looked into that pair of eyes and his heart twitched for no reason. His whole body seemed to be controlled by invisible restriction. He immediately lost his ability to move.
It is this pair of eyes! It’s full of weirdness that makes one shiver. Chen Rui once felt the horror of these eyes on the crystal around the fountain of life and the controlled earth elementals. Yet, when he truly faced it now, it was 10 times more terrifying! Just by a single glance, his entire body’s blood was frozen under the cold and evil gaze. He couldn’t exert any strength.
Tag and Sog were both Great Demon King, so they didn’t seem to be affected much. They rushed towards the spirit-devouring demonic flies without hesitation. At that point, the pressure on the Chief Tauren and Queen Medusa was greatly reduced. However, these spirit-devouring demonic flies were also immortal. Glorfin was severely damaged by the Lord of Midnight Sun back then, so he was no stranger to the “Dark Will”. The defeat at Dark Moon ruined the years of planning for the rise of the Beelzebub Royal Family. After the death of countless comrades, Glorfin himself was almost dead as well. Therefore, he hated the Lucifer Royal Family to the extreme.
In the roar, the spirit-devouring demonic flies shattered into crystals and a huge, scary force spread immediately. Even the few Great Demon King powerhouses like the Chief Tauren couldn’t stand still within that force. They staggered backward and eventually fell to the ground. Chen Rui was just on time to hug Athena tight and they were blown up by that force until he hit a pillar in the palace before they stopped. Although the spirit-devouring demonic flies were shattered, it didn’t mean that the crisis was lifted. At the moment that the breath subsided, everyone in the palace felt that their feet were congealed simultaneously. They had been firmly bound by countless tiny crystals. Instantly, the “growing” crystals spread upward from their feet and it contained a powerful devouring force that made their strength reduced quickly. Let alone escaping, they were unable to move or resist at all.
Chen Rui hugged Athena, clenched his teeth and launched the “Dark Will” <Teleportation>. He didn’t expect that their figures were only blurred for a while and they were still at the same place when it became clear. They were surrounded by the crystals again.

As soon as the speed of the crystal stopped, the sight from the “God-Eating Mask” fell on Chen Rui’s body and a low-pitched voice sounded, “Tell me now! Where is the fountain of life?!”
“You can’t tell him!” Tag also guessed the importance of the fountain of life, so he shouted, “Otherwise, he can completely control the king!”
An angry expression flashed past within the mask and the crystals on Tag’s body suddenly wrapped the entire body of the earth elemental quickly. Tag struggled with all his strength, but his resistance was futile. He gradually solidified into a rigid statue.

Chen Rui felt that the power of the crystals began to increase again, so he quickly said, “Glorfin! I can give you the fountain of life! However, you must let my friends go!”

The crystals on Chen Rui and others began to withdraw and the devoured strength slowly returned to their body.
