255 This is fun~
While Igni, Imperia, Vitaria, and Lavinia were having their conversation, Kael stepped into the Tempest Sanctum with Cirri in his arms. Once again, his eyes fell on the destructive hurricanes far away, dense clouds, thick lightning crackling amongst the clouds, the magical, multidirectional rain, and… the throne hovering at the very end of everything.
The Tempest Throne.
He had come to this place many more times than he initially expected. However, unlike the first time he had been here, this time, something was different.
This time, he didn’t brace himself for what was about to come.
“Heh.”
He laughed.
The winds that once felt like they were pushing him away now felt like they were greeting an old friend.
Everything happening here didn’t force him to close his eyes. He had long gotten used to this.
And it wasn’t just him,
“Father.”
Cirri called out as she snuggled in his arms. Kael smiled, weakening his hold around her. Cirri slowly wiggled out of his arms and hovered in the strong air.
“Ready?”
Kael questioned confidently.
“Always.”
Cirri was even more confident. The Dragon looked above, staring at the bright throne, before turning back towards her father and,
“Let’s win today, Father.”
She grinned adorably.
Kael nodded.
Cirri’s form vanished, her entire body dispersed in the air, spreading all over the place as she became one with the Sky itself.
Kael from before couldn’t notice any difference, but it was different now.
Even though he couldn’t see her, he could still feel his daughter, like a comforting wind brushing against his skin.
“Let’s go, Father.”
Kael heard Cirri’s voice in his ear, and his grin widened even further. After a light stretch, he jumped.
With a single jump, he was 50 meters above the ground, and very quickly, his feet found footing. Cirri had already prepared for his jump. Using the wind that Cirri had summoned, Kael jumped again, then again, until finally, he stood above the clouds, staring at the three familiar presences.
Brontis, the Thunderforged Colossus.
Cymorea, the Gale Harpy.
Zepharion, the Rain Serpent.
It was the same trio, but…
They weren’t exactly the same.

Kael had noticed it before. These three levelled up with him. The more he levelled up, the stronger they got. And what’s worse?
The rate at which he levelled up was lower than theirs. All this while, he had levelled up by 10, while they had levelled up by 15. It was unfair.
Kael knew this couldn’t continue because sooner or later, these beings would overpower him. He needed to end this today.
And that was exactly what he was planning.
“Let’s destroy them, Father!”
Cirri exclaimed excitedly. Kael nodded, and the instant he did, the air shifted.
Brontis moved first. The massive Thunderforged Colossus surged forward with his lightning-charged sword.
“Rise!”
Cirri’s precise instruction came at the perfect time. Kael’s body moved on its own and shot up. He didn’t even have to worry about the wind beneath his feet because he knew Cirri had already arranged it.
Kael’s focus was on the enemy in front of him. Brontis’s blade swung under his feet, missing by a big margin.
“Above you—big blade coming!”
Cirri warned, and from above, Cymorea ended her chant with a wave of her hand.
Whoosh
A ridiculously big wind blade hurled down, ready to cut Kael in two pieces.
The spell wasn’t just strong, it was fast as well. It was so fast that if Kael stopped to look at it to know where it was coming from and where he had to move in order to dodge it, it would be his end.
He couldn’t look, and he didn’t. Rather, he just flipped mid-air, wind beneath his back guided him into a clean arc that sent the spell past him harmlessly.
And only when he was safe did he finally glance at the Harpy standing above him and,
“Heh.”
Kael grinned.
This was all too easy now.
Every motion felt natural, every gust beneath his feet was a signal from Cirri.
The Dragon no longer needed to waste time shouting; she was the air itself. The way she could converse with her father was now much more advanced than before.
A breeze on his shoulder meant dodge.
A pull on his side meant spin.
A lift under his heel meant rise.
The father and daughter had made their own language.
They only conversed when they had to,
Like right now,
“Brontis is coming again. Block!”
Kael turned as the knight swung from below. He clenched his own sword and blocked the blade. Brontis was stronger than him, but he was in the air. He had the advantage here.
He simply allowed Brontis’s force to throw him far away, and soon, Cirri helped him regain his balance, turning the Colossus’s attack into a free ride.
Yes, the aerial battle that once made him uncomfortable now gave him a sort of advantage like no other.
As Cirri caught his weight, Kael flipped back again, regaining his footing. Suddenly, he felt a breeze on his right shoulder, so he jumped to his left—just in time to avoid Zepharion’s lunge.
Whoosh
The serpent’s jaw snapped where Kael had been just now.
Kael spun in the air, staring at the serpent with a big smile on his face,
“This is fun~”
He commented.
“It is!”
Cirri exclaimed with a hearty laugh.
The Sky Dragon was having a lot of fun~
And Kael decided to play along for a little while.
He knew his daughter loved spending time with him like this, and since this was going to be the last time they would be here,
He decided to extend this and play a little more.
“Cirri, up!”
He shouted and,
“Yes, Father!”
Cirri laughed.
