A giant black dragon hung upon the cliff, his colossal body hanging over the edge. Loud cracking echoed through the surroundings as pieces of large stone broke away from the cliff, falling down.
The whole cliff was melting, glowing in bright red light, with a portion directly in contact with the dragon turning into orange-red lava.
The dragon was giant, multiple times larger than his previous form, his height reaching multiple floors height, with the length of his body from head to the tip of his tail being more than that of two fully loaded freight trucks. The sheer bulk of his body made him look like a walking building.
The whole body was covered in pitch-black obsidian-like armour with cracks filled with yellow magma that kept pouring out, flowing down the cliff like magma waterfalls. The head of the dragon reached from the top of the ridge all the way to the ground, with its long spike-covered neck hanging from the cliff.
Three long curled horns made of semitransparent black crystal-like material with traces of gold in it grew from the dragon’s head. Magma and lightning spiralled around them, forming a crown of magma and lightning.
The whole head was huge, covered in a thick layer of black stone with a black and gold shiny metallic helmet closely fitting over it.
Bright yellow geysers of fire and black smoke kept blasting out of the dragon’s nostrils with each of his breaths, fiery droplets raining over the surroundings.
Dark black clouds sparking electricity were everywhere, with the thick smell of sulphur lingering in the air.
A liquid was dripping from the dragon’s long golden-black semitransparent crystal-like claws that looked like they were made of volcanic glass with golden traces. They were covered in glowing runes that kept reflecting on the shiny surface. The ground was sizzling, with the stone melting under the drops of toxic acidic liquid.
The long tail curled behind the dragon, falling from the cliff to the ground. It ended in four sharp crystal spikes with lightning and magma wildly rotating around them.
From the dragon’s head to his tail was a line of volcanic-glass pitch-black spikes running alongside the dragon’s spine, lightning striking between them.
The colossal dragon’s wings hanging from the cliff were throwing their large shadows over the valley under the cliff. They were slightly glowing. Their bone structure was replaced by a shiny black crystal-like material supporting the semitransparent membrane made of millions of interlocked tiny black crystals; the glowing veins visible in the transparent material were pulsing with yellow and blue light.
Suddenly the dragon stirred, the cliff shaking with massive boulders falling down. The pair of golden glowing reverse-slitted eyes opened, moving around and searching for any threat.
Seeing that his perspective had changed largely from the last time made his head spin as if he was looking from some cliff, ‘How large am I now? To dwarf volcano dragons that are already considered large by dragon standards is just huge.’ It wasn’t that he was enormous from the scale of all dragons, but when he considered that he wasn’t even an adult and was less than a year old, that made his head spin, even more, thinking about how huge a monster he will be in the future.

Horns made of special mana-sensitive crystals formed deep in the Lorenia’s mantle when exposed to a dragon’s aura for a long time. They allow users to freely control and manipulate any element that is part of a volcanic domain, not just electrical fields. They can also condense electrical charge in them to unleash powerful lightning strikes.

Volcanic Tail Cannon (LV 1): Four crystal spikes on the end of the dragon’s tail that are connected to the acid and toxic glands in the tail allowing the dragon to fire projectiles of poison or acid at a great distance. Their mana-sensitive nature also allows them to condense explosive volcanic bombs.
Acid-Toxin Glands (LV 1): Glands connected to teeth, claws, spikes and tail cannon that are capable of producing extremely dangerous acidic and poisonous solutions.

The dragon stood up, the cliff under him crumbling with loud bangs and clouds of dust rising up, a giant avalanche of stone moving down. The dragon spread his wings wide and flapped them, his enormous body lifting from the crumbling cliff under him.
With his large body, he couldn’t but feel almighty and able to just crush humans as if they were just ants. He knew that such a great size would make him a big target, but he also knew that it had even more advantages, ‘Even if something penetrates through my defences, it would be just like a stab of a toothpick, and with my enlargened mouth and breath glands I can flood everything in magma!’
The dragon was flapping his wings, levitating in the air. The whole sky around him was filled with thick black clouds, giant lightning strikes striking across the sky, and loud rumbling resounding through the mountains.
Animals ran in panic as the monstrous silhouette of the dragon appeared in the sky.
‘Haha, how can the life of any human compare with this? This pure feeling of power and freedom.’
The giant dragon’s hand lifted up, aiming towards the smoke-covered sky, his long-clawed fingers widely spread. Mana flowed through his body, seeping into the black volcanic armour covering his hand. The glow of the magma in the cracks rose as it wildly bubbled.
The next moment powerful cracking and rumbling noise echoed through the mountains, and a large explosion of magma and pyroclastic clouds erupted from the hands, crashing forwards through the sky. The shockwave sent ripples through the thick smoke clouds, and bright yellow light flashed, temporary illuminating everything in yellow.
‘So with these, I can just blast enemies with any part of my body?’
His whole body was craving to just open his mouth and unleash his breath to see how it looked and felt now. But he shook his head, ‘I am breading wyverns here. Devasting their habitat would be a huge setback… Wait, I can still evolve my breath. That will be another great power boost.’

Dozens of players stood around a board in the middle of a square, their eyes glued on a fat NPC in richly decorated robes reading from a parchment.
The man’s pompous voice, enchanted by the magic, was resounding through the crowd. “In the name of the baroness Tania Alia Azerlisia, as a response to the recent outbreak of demons in the region, a new security force shall be formed; the Azerlisian Order will hunt down the remaining demons and fight any similar events in the future! Any immortal shall have open doors to join!”
The player shook, their eyes glittering when they heard these words, knowing the perks of working for the local government.
“Temporary, you will cooperate with the dragon cult to eliminate the remnants of the demon’s force in the Azerlisian forest to ensure the local population’s safety! Hunt as many of them to show our dominance as the main force in the region!”
Flames of competitiveness flared up in their hearts, their weapons itching to go out and defeat their opponents.
“Haha, let’s go and show them who the boss is here!”
“They think they are bosses now, so let’s kill more demons than these wyrm lovers to show them!”
The official kept reading from the parchment, ignoring the shouting immortals before him, “These of you that want to join shall go to the barracks of town’s guard!”
“Anyone who joins will be rewarded with special preferential perks!” As if a dam broke, the players launched like a flood wave, running towards the barracks.
