Satisfied, he finally averted his gaze and looked at the medium-sized orbs with a storm trapped inside them. Lightning crackled around them, throwing blue arcs through the empty black space.
‘My wings and spikes on my back are already made of similar material to my horns. Their element-controlling abilities would likely be too expensive to implement on all of them, but adding the ability to emit and condense lightning should be relatively cheap, especially with these cores.’ Vesuvius quickly analysed possibilities for his following modifications.
With just a single push of the dragon’s will, the two orbs of storm melted, turning into glowing liquid looking like liquified lightning.
The liquid floated up and evenly spread into dozens of thin streams, each flowing either towards the crystal wings or the crystal spikes on the dragon’s back.
The lightning-like liquid entered the crystal material, and lightning sparked inside of them as if there was a storm trapped inside.
Massive and bright golden-blue lightning arcs were striking between the spikes, wings and horns. The bright flashes of light passing through the thick clouds of smoke around the dragon were illuminating the black space.
The lightning and electrical current surged around the dragon, massive arcs striking between different parts of his body.
A strong wind rose up, flowing from the crystals to all over the dragon’s body and loudly howling. The thick black clouds of smoke and steam around the dragon whirled under the mighty wind. It looked like the dragon was standing in the middle of a storm.

Vesuvius wanted to grin after seeing how perfectly his new ability fitted his current build, but he couldn’t, as he was just a consciousness floating in nothingness.
Some players would likely say it was a redundant ability, as he already had multiple similar ones.
However, Vesuvius, with his experience, knew the true potential of it, ‘I have multiple similar abilities, and that is great. The synergy between them will not be just additive but multiplicative.’
He could already feel the powerful synergy it would produce with his horns, charged armour and the charge-producing ash.
He was already itching and wanted to test the new limit of his lightning powers, ‘I can probably summon massive lightning attacks without even needing to form massive clouds of ash around me.’
Vesuvius glanced at the quickly decreasing amount of materials, thinking about his next steps. There were still dozens of the blue glowing mana generators from the droids he killed in the dungeon.
‘I have only a little bit over three thousand points left. So, I should finally use these generators.’
This was the first time Vesuvius had no idea what they could be used for, so he decided to get their properties first. Luckily for him, the metamorphosis was user-friendly, with the system offering great assistance.

Vesuvius grabbed more than ten glowing orbs with his consciousness, making them float towards his breath glands. His excitement grew as he imagined the changes it would bring to his breath.
In an instant, all the spheres turned into a blue light and got sucked into the glands.
Vesuvius excitedly watched as they started to glow and pulse.

The glow around his breath glands intensified, a bright light glowing from the dragon’s throat. The light kept intensifying, the crystals growing out of the organic tissue starting to shine brighter and brighter as they became energised.

He still felt like he could gain even more power, ‘Haha, this is not enough. I want more! I still have plenty of cores and points while my breath is my primary weapon. So there is no need to cheap on it.’
The dragon grabbed fifteen more cores and pushed them again towards his glands. They turned into pure energy and seeped into the glowing glands.
The glands grew even brighter than before, surrounding the dragon’s head and pulsing like some invisible high-intensity force passed through them.

For the first time, Vesuvius started to have doubts, feeling like he did something stupid. Dozens of questions filling up his mind, ‘Did I overdid it? Do I now have a nuclear reactor in my throat? Will I create a nuclear wasteland with my breath? Can it blow up?’

In horror, Vesuvius quickly read through all of the options, wanting to vomit when reading about the extra cost the system asked for, ‘Well, it is not like I will gain nothing out of this. They are still powerful bonuses that maybe I would add anyway.’
He immediately crossed out the first option, ‘I will not revert it. That would be like giving my gold to beggars.’
He quickly looked over and over through the two remaining options until he decided in record time, ‘The third option would be a waste of points and material as all of the extra regeneration would get offset by the degen from radioactivity. So I will take the second option as it will fix the problem while still giving me an upgrade.’
Immediately the largest blue orb burst, turning into a flood of light and sparks that drowned the dragon’s body, bathing it in condensed energy.
Vesuvius quickly selected the second option and waited for the system’s ding tense.
