The whole sky burned in red flames, the neon-red and crimson-red mixing together in massive burning vortexes dancing across the sky.
The dragon didn’t even bother to talk more and opened his massive mouth. The bright purple flames interwoven with gold spun in his mouth, its purple radiance outshining even the ever-present red light.
The black figure of the demon flapped his fiery red wings and turned into a blur, rising towards the dragon like a red rocket.
The horns on the dragon’s head shone slightly, and lightning crackled across the sky, the bright golden blue tendrils splitting the sky into thousands of fragments as it descended towards the incoming demon, striking his shadowy body.
Earth-shattering thunders resounded through the land, the demon’s body sparkling with each thunder, his shadow flesh dissipating only to regenerate in the next second.
The two glowing red spots in blackness surrounded by the flames quickly closed towards the dragon, looking just like a small bird approaching a massive mountain.
No, one spoke. Both of them focused on the fight, the demon no longer daring to taunt his foe.
Finally, a bright purple beam exploded out of the dragon’s mouth, squares and stars rotating and glowing in his mouth, mana flowing through his veins sucked out of his surrounding to fuel his attack.
‘So this the might of the domain. It is not only about control, so much mana to use.’
The beam drew a line across the sky, moving towards the demon, who flapped his wings and rapidly changed his direction, the beam passing by him and smashing into the ground with a massive purple explosion shaking the ground.
The whole ground was melting and deforming.
All the shadows on the ground moved as if they came to life, forming pitch-black tentacles that shot up towards the sky like massive black sprouts.
‘Gotcha!’ the dragon turned his head, the beam moving together with it, following the demon’s path, creating a path of magma on the ground.
The beam quickly moved towards the demon, faster than he could flap his wings, quickly cutting the distance.
The demon’s body started to evaporate, the black shadows disappearing under the close proximity of the purple fire, and his coal-black face was quickly deforming.
It looked like it was the end, and the dragon’s two hearts were beating in satisfaction, his hunger for revenge coming close to its end.
Suddenly the black seas of shadows smashed against the purple-golden flaming beam, forming a massive curtain of blackness, the shadows and flames pushing against each other amidst the fight of the red flames and lightning smashing across the sky.
It looked like the environment itself was fighting with itself in a self-destructive attempt.
Vesuvius tapped with his consciousness deep into the ground, his mind touching the magma deep under the ground.
‘That is deep. I can’t use it fast enough.’
The magma bubbled underground, tremors passing through the soil as the magma started to crawl up slowly, too slowly.
The demon kept ascending higher and higher, his hands transforming into a mass of red flames and black shadows, quickly growing in size with each second.
The black shadows whirled around him, smashing against the incoming beams of fire, slowly getting pushed back, the distance between the flames and the demon getting shorter and shorter.
‘Time to increase the firepower.’
The dragon pushed his mana into his second glands, taping into his own mana reserves for the first time in the fight.
The mana erupted out of his heart as if it was a well, pouring out through his veins into his glands and magical circuits.
A second star-like circuit flared up in his mouth, then a red reversed triangle, another one fueled by the violent cursed mana out of his second heart.
Something in his glands switched the purple-golden flames changing into a volcanic explosion of purple-golden magma, black smoke crackling with blue and gold lightning launched under immense pressure.
It passed through the double-layer squares, changing into a thick ray.
Then it passed through the red triangles, its colour turning into a vile neon-red colour, the vile curses of weakness, mana-devouring and life-devouring, soaking and taunting the pure elements within it.
Everything violently swirled inside the dragon’s mouth, the demon’s neon red eyes flickering in horror and panic, “You are not a normal dragon.”
He flapped his wings, changing his direction away from the dragon, flapping his flaming wings with desperation.
“Haha, are you not even gonna hit me? I wanted to test my defences, you puny little demon. You are nothing compared to the might of dragons.”
Vesuvius felt joy and excitement soak his mind, his golden eyes flashing so brightly that they looked like two golden suns that penetrated with their light, even the thick black clouds swirling around him and the storm of red flames.
The mass in his mouth passed through the stars, turning into a monstrous thick beam fueled by the dragon’s god miracle, his mana, and the mana of his surroundings, with its light illuminating the whole sky.
As if time had stopped, the world slowed down in the dragon’s eyes, the beam of colours bursting out of his mouth, and the horns on his head crackled and sparkled with thick beam-like arcs shooting out and joining the beam.
The dragon’s horns glowed even brighter, his mind grabbing the beam as if it was his own tail, redirecting it towards the retreating demon.
The bright light flashed across the sky, the beam smashing through the tendrils of shadows and enveloping the demon, his whole body vanishing without any trace.

The demon’s domain vanished, and the dragon’s one calmed down, everything turning silent with the beam continuing towards the horizon.
‘Such a power! This is how dragons are supposed to be.’ Vesuvius felt like laughing, remembering how he got bullied by the demon and how it was now reversed.
He felt like everything until now, every beating, every obstacle and battle, was worth it.
The protective mana finally dissipated from the dragon’s scales as he breathed out, his mana reserves quickly filling back up.
He only regretted that the demon’s main body probably survived deep in the nether, ‘No, I used the dragon god’s miracle, and dragon flames aren’t normal. The demon must be suffering and be injured. He probably will not be able to recover for a long time, and with how demons are, he will likely get finished off by his own kin.’

Suddenly mana erupted in the distance.
The dragon turned his head, only to spot a small glowing red dot growing on the horizon.
The next second, a pain erupted through the dragon’s chest, a tiny miniature hole glowing in his armour in a place where his heart should be.
Pain erupted in his chest, something small stuck in the bottom layer of scales. He felt it poking and stabbing his muscles, stuck in his scales.
His golden eyes looked in the direction of the attack, only to see nothing.
‘So you were waiting for this, to try and assassinate me when I let my guard down. And it would have worked.’
The dragon felt horror as he realised that he played exactly into enemies’ cards, and the only reason why he survived was his incredible defence.
‘No, I would have survived even if it got through as my heart is offsetted.’ still, he felt fear knowing that his enemy was cunning enough to instigate a fight with the demon to hide the buildup of mana for the weird piercing attack, ‘No it is possible that the fight ended sooner than it expected, cutting its plan short.’
The dragon casually flapped his wings, the stabbing pain in his chest scales slowly subsiding as he looked around, the whole plain around him destroyed.
There was only a large lake of magma remaining.
‘I wonder where that my final beam ended.’
