But what happened next completely took him by surprise.
The shell, which had just grazed the ground, suddenly exploded.

A powerful shockwave swept outwards in an instant, causing an earthquake and showering debris. It left a crater over ten meters wide where it exploded.
In the explosion’s instant, An was thrown far away by the immense force and crashed onto the ground.
By now, he had already revealed his figure, his clothes were tattered, and blood flowed from numerous wounds. After getting up, he coughed up a couple of mouthfuls of blood.

An held onto the dual blades tightly, unwilling to let go, even though he knew they were already dulled.

One minute later, Su Hao descended again, lowering his altitude. The black, gaping cannon was aimed at the fallen An.
An couldn’t just lie there anymore. By now, his chest felt suffocated. This was the most frustrating battle he had ever experienced. He felt utterly helpless, unable to escape or fight back, and even his stealth had been exposed. It was all he could do not to start swearing!
His years of self-discipline allowed him to keep it in. He immediately jumped up, vanished, and ran. As he fled, one of the shells violently exploded where he’d lain before, tossing him again and exacerbating his injuries. He knew he couldn’t withstand many more blows.
An’s clothing was in tatters, and he was left with only a pair of underpants, barely clinging to his modesty, preventing him from facing the embarrassment of running around naked.
After Su Hao’s latest shot, he ascended once again, fully satisfied and preparing the fourth shell.
Meanwhile, An’s inner world was in turmoil. Struggling to maintain his composure, he reviewed what went wrong during the previous encounters. “First, my escape speed isn’t advantageous; I can’t outrun the enemy. Second, the enemy is extremely cautious, and I can’t attack them. Finally, my invisibility doesn’t work, and I can’t shake off the enemy. An was thrown once again. This time, he just lay there and didn’t hurry to get up. He truly had no more strength left this time and needed to rest.
“Cleaning doesn’t work. There must be something trapping me, or I’m hidden somewhere!”
So An picked up his short sword again and started scraping his head, shaving his hair this time, believing there might be something hidden there.
