Kyle carefully went back into the lake.
’This shit is stupid,’ he thought. ’It’s just a fucking fish!’
’Noble, my ass!’
As Kyle entered the water, he felt nervous.
He really didn’t want his legs chewed off again!
By now, he had become pretty good at pushing the water around with his Soul.
“You are very talented at manipulating the world with your Soul,” Theodor commented. “Maybe you are not such a bad inheritor.”
Kyle lost his focus and submerged.
’Praise?! From Theodor?!’ he thought in shock.
He quickly regained his focus, and the waters calmed down again.
Underwater, Kyle opened his eyes and looked down.
Since he now had time, he could actually look at the bottom of the lake.
’That fucker is huge!’ Kyle thought as he saw the gigantic fish.
That fish was probably ten meters long and two meters wide!
If it wanted, it could swallow Kyle whole!
The Noble of the Lake just rested on the bottom of the lake.
Many of its offspring were crowding around it, not daring to leave its side.
Kyle also saw a couple of other fish in the lake.
There were also around 30 of the fish who had bitten his hand earlier.
’How the fuck is there such a huge fish in such a small lake?!’ Kyle thought. ’There’s barely any space for it!’
The next moment, he saw something move beneath the Noble of the Lake.
’You’ve got to be shitting me!’ Kyle thought. ’This thing has crab legs?!’
Sure enough, the Noble of the Lake had about eight crab legs.
’Wait, so that thing can also go on land?!’
“This is the Noble’s domain,” Theodor said. “It made this lake, and if it wants to, it can make it bigger.”
Kyle carefully surfaced again.
“What do you fucking mean with it made this lake?” Kyle asked. He couldn’t talk while underwater, which was why he surfaced.
“Foolish inheritor, do you not know what a Water Affinity is?” Theodor asked with annoyance.
“No, I don’t,” Kyle answered.
Theodor almost seemed taken aback.
This had been a jab, not an honest question.
Theodor got disgusted by his inheritor’s idiocy once again.
“There are many kinds of Ether in this world. You can transform Ether into many different things, and one of these things is Elemental Ether.”
“You saw those wolves that spit fire? They have a Fire Affinity. Their bodies are still filled with normal Ether, but they can transform that Ether into Fire Ether and use that to attack their prey.”
“The Noble of the Lake has a Water Affinity, and it can transform Ether into Water Ether. That Water Ether turns into water, and that’s how it makes its lakes.”
“If it needs a bigger lake, it takes a bite from the walls, spits the debris into the distance, and summons more water.”
Kyle blinked a couple of times in surprise.
’Fucking fantasy land, dude,’ he thought.
“Do I have an Affinity?” Kyle asked.
“Yes,” Theodor said. “I made sure that my inheritor would have the perfect affinity. When you received your Aristocrat’s Body, you also received a fitting Affinity.”
“What is it?” Kyle asked.
Theodor snorted. “I said you would have the most fitting one. I would assume it’s obvious.”
“Eh, earth?” Kyle asked.
“No, you imbecile!” Theodor shouted. “It’s metal! You have a Metal Affinity!”
“Wait, you can have an Affinity for metal?” Kyle thought. “I thought it would be just something like earth, water, fire, and wind.”
Theodor groaned in annoyance.
“There are many different Affinities. Water, fire, earth, wind, wood, stone, metal, rain, storm, magma, steam, light, darkness, and so on.”
“What?” Kyle asked in confusion. “Literally, what’s the difference between rain, storm, and wind? Seems like the same thing to me.”
Theodor had already become numb to Kyle’s stupidity.
“Wind makes you faster. It has a high degree of control.”
“Storm increases your attacking power and speed, but it is very difficult to control it.”
“Rain is even harder to control, but with chaos comes destruction.”
Kyle raised a brow in skepticism. “How is a Rain Affinity destructive?”
“Have you ever seen a droplet move so fast that it breaks a tree?”
Kyle didn’t answer.
“Now imagine that but with many more droplets.”
Kyle blinked a couple of times in surprise.
“What about water? What can it do?” he asked.
“Pressure and mass,” Theodor answered. “Water is easier to create with Ether than ground or fire. That means you can create a lot of it, and when you control a lot of water, you can cause a lot of chaos.”
’Dude, fantasy land, I tell you!’ Kyle thought. ’Is this a fucking RPG? Are there talent trees as well?’
“What can I do with my Metal Affinity?” Kyle asked.
“Shape metal. Control metal to a certain degree,” Theodor answered.
“Can I create metal?” Kyle asked.
“No.”
Kyle just frowned.
“Sounds a bit underwhelming,” he answered.
Theodor just shook his metaphorical head with a disgusted expression and didn’t dignify that comment with an answer.
“Go dive,” Theodor commanded. “I want to take inventory of the lake’s ore.”
Kyle was a bit annoyed that Theodor completely ignored his comment.
“Sure thing, Boss,” he said as he dove again.
Kyle dove to a depth of about ten meters and looked at the walls.
It was pretty dark, but he could still see well.
When he saw a blue stone, he pointed towards it and made a couple of gurgling noises.
“This lake must have been created years ago,” Theodor commented. “There’s already Coral Stone growing here.”
“Blub, blub?” Kyle asked.
“It’s a Rank E Material, and it can be used for different equipment for Apprentices with a Water Affinity. It can also easily be turned into water.”
“The Noble of the Lake won’t care about the Coral Stone. You can mine it.”
Kyle showed a thumbs-up and swam over to the Coral Stone.
“It’s very brittle,” Theodor said. “Be careful with it.”
Kyle nodded and carefully pulled the stone out of the wall.
CRACK!
The stone broke into pieces as Kyle’s hammer jerked to the side.
With his teeth gritted in anger, he tore the fish that bit his butt off and bit its head off in return.
Theodor just looked at Kyle in disgust.
