With a deep sigh, Shea reached up and slowly lifted the VR headset from her head, the medieval world she had been immersed in mere moments before fading away to reveal a modern, luxurious room. This was her gaming place, her sanctuary from the stresses of the real world.
The room was filled with all the trappings of a true gamer’s paradise – from the state-of-the-art gaming rig in the corner to the rows of neatly organized gaming peripherals on the desk. But it was the little touches that truly made the room special – like the plush massage chair in the corner, perfect for relaxing after a long day of virtual adventures.
Shea gingerly placed her VR headset on her sleek, modern desk, its glowing blue lights casting an otherworldly glow over the room. She leaned back in her plush gaming chair, feeling its soft leather embrace her tired body like a warm hug from an old friend. The room around her was filled with the latest gaming technology, from the towering gaming rig in the corner to the rows of neatly organized peripherals on the desk. But despite the modern trappings, Shea couldn’t shake the tension that had settled over her like a dark cloud.
“Calm down, Shea. Calm down. It’s just a game,” she whispered to herself, taking a few deep breaths to try and steady her racing heart. But the words felt hollow as if spoken by someone else entirely. She couldn’t calm down and her heart kept beating fast. And it was all because of him…
